Van Ginkel earns national award, new business

Herald Times Reporter

David and Bridget Van Ginkel own B&D Embroidery & Screen Printing in Two Rivers. Bridget has invented a process for printing miniature dollhouse ceramic tiles, which are sold through www.mini atures.com and its catalog division, Hobby Builder Supply.

Now, her creativity and thinking outside the box has drawn the attention and accolades of Ohio-based Imprintables, Inc., a supplier of heat-applied transfer materials for the custom apparel industry.

She entered and won its competition for most creative use of their "Spectra" product, with her winnings including a new heat press, raw materials, and free advertising on its Web site.

Van Ginkel took a pre-printed version and designed dollhouse items, including a bedspread, pillows, floor rug, doilies and other items.

HBS became interested in her creativity and is carrying three-dozen new items, including place mats for miniature dinner tables.
