TWO RIVERS — Two Rivers Water & Light and its power supplier, Wisconsin Public Power Inc., recently presented an incentive grant in support of local efforts to improve energy efficiency. Eggers Industries received $5,628 for a new compressed air system with variable speed drive technology.
As a result of the energy-saving improvement, Eggers Industries will enjoy benefits including lower operating costs, reduced power surges (from starting AC motors), and delivering a more constant pressure, according to a press release from Two Rivers Water & Light.
"Eggers Industries plays an important role in our community, and their commitment to energy conservation is yet another asset the company brings to Two Rivers," said Tom Bushman, electric utility director.
The project is expected to result in energy savings of 160,600 kilowatt-hours annually.
"Working together on energy conservation with our business customers is a partnership that makes sense for the utility, the customer and the community," said Bushman. "Energy conservation is the most practical and effective way that we can help protect the environment and keep customers' electric bills down for the long term."
