Designer starts up Kiel business

KIEL —Graphic designer Jeffrey R. Ploor and his wife Penny are co-owners of Empire Design, LLC, Kiel which firm designs and prints invitations, business cards, advertising flyers, brochures, custom vinyl, custom artwork, promotional products and much more.

Ploor, who said he works from his home at 834 Third St., Kiel, has 20 years of printing experience. The Sturgeon Bay native completed the graphic arts program at Lakeshore Technical College and after entering the business world moved from layout/design experience to offset printing, to screen printing and currently performs textile printing (apparel and embroidery) part-time with Bulls Eye, Brillion. Ploor's interest in the graphic arts stems back to high school where he and fellow students gained both in-house and outside job experience.

Whereas most Empire Design printing jobs are done at his home, some promotional products such as pens, mugs, plaques and other award pieces are sent out.
