Labor Training Programs
Business Employees' Skills Training (BEST) Program was established by the Wisconsin Legislature to help small businesses in industries that are facing severe labor shortages to upgrade the skills of their workforce. Under the BEST program, The Department of Commerce can provide applicants with a tuition reimbursement grant to help cover a portion of the costs associated with training employees. Customized Labor Training (CLT) Fund provides training grants to businesses that are implementing new technology or production processes. The program can provide up to 50 percent of the cost of customized training.
Lakeshore Technical College is one of the sixteen campuses of the Wisconsin Technical College System and serves business and industry in Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties. LTC’s Workforce Solutions has a professional staff of training directors and assistants dedicated to providing technical and educational consulting assistance as well as customized training solutions. LTC specializes in flexible on-site training to meet their customers' needs and can deliver in a timely manner a large spectrum of topics that include everything from English as a Second Language to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
